Stories of children living with type 1 diabetes

Taylor, diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 10
Fairfax Station, Virginia, USA

Taylor's mother wrote to Islets of Hope via the QD Quilts for Children with Diabetes program. She is very proud of her son and committed to his care.  Taylor was diagnosed October 2006.

My son Taylor was diagnosed 2-1/2 weeks ago.  He is ten.  He was very depressed the first week, and still cries when we ask him to talk about it.  He is a HUGE dog lover, and when I saw the puppy quilt, I knew this was for him!  This will truly brighten his day, and I am sure he will treasure ir forever.  Thank you so much for the generousity of volunteers to provide this to us.
